Trainer Dale Romans brought Medal Count into the Kentucky Derby in 2014, and the colt managed a top-ten placing. He then sent the son of Medaglia D’Oro to the Belmont, where he finished a hard-charging third to Tonalist. This year, Romans has Keen Ice, a colt who has run well to hit the board in his preps but his late-closing kick needs a Derby-style pace to be effective. Horse Racing Nation’s Mark Midland talked to Romans about Keen Ice’s latest workout and his Derby hopes!
