MAGE SCORES KENTUCKY DERBY VICTORY

The 149th Kentucky Derby is a wrap, and I can’t tell you how gratifying it is to hear from so many of you regarding the big wins you cashed this year thanks to the Super Screener. That makes all the effort that goes into that book so worthwhile.

It was a crazy 48 hours leading up to the Derby with the constant flow of scratches requiring a lot of adjustments to accommodate the changes. The big one, of course, was the scratch of Forte on Saturday morning. Thankfully, we were prepared and always re-evaluating the race based on who was in and out. E.g. The combination of Forte out and Cyclone Mischief in put Mage in our “Super Six” group.

And, just like last year—when Rich Strike got into the field—the morning of the Derby, we sent out an alert to subscribers Saturday morning suggesting that if you wanted to replace Forte in our suggested wagers that Mage was the horse to use. That worked out pretty well since replacing Forte with Mage cashed for more than $20,000!

LONG SHOT PICKS PERFORM WELL

The Kentucky Derby Super Screener long shots performed extremely well. This video was released a week before the Derby and featured top long shots Two Phil’s and Disarm, who took 2 of the 4 Superfecta spots!

With all the scratches and changes, it turns out that Two Phil’s was 9-1, so he was moved from Top Longshot to Top Value status, and Skinner, our third Top Long Shot was scratched, so he was replaced with Mandarin Hero.

Disarm, the one Top Long Shot pick that remained consistent throughout the lead up to the race, came through to complete the Superfecta at odds of 27-1. The Super Screener identified the one 20-1 long shot to hit the Superfecta out of two final long shots – Disarm and Mandarin Hero.

TOSSES TO TRUST

As we dissected the final 18 horse field, none of the mid-pack, back-half or tosses hit the Superfecta!

That’s 10 of the 18 horses that were recommended not to use, and 100% of them missed the Superfecta and only one of them finished better than 8th!

Midpack – Kingsbarns (14th), Rocket Can (9th), Hit Show (5th)
Back Half – Cyclone Mischief (18th), Reincarnate (13th)
Tosses – King Russell (15th), Confidence Game (10th), Jace’s Road (17th), Sun Thunder (11th), Raise Cain (8th)

NEXT UP: ON TO PREAKNESS!

Now it is on to the Preakness Stakes and we’ll see that field start to come together this coming week. We’ll be working on putting together that book next weekend to get it out early next week. We certainly know that Mage will be going to Maryland to take that run at the Triple Crown. Join us for the Preakness Stakes today – get your copy!
