2015 Pacific Classic (G1) post race recap

What a performance! Easily one of the best of the year.  Beholder now moves into the Classic Super 7 in what is turning out to be a bit of a weak Classic division this year.  She stunned everyone with this sensational performance sweeping by the boys as if they were standing still heading into the far turn.  The pace was hot and she was near the fire and yet still opened up on this field and wasn’t even blowing at the end of the race.  Gary Stevens barely touched her as she did this all on her own.  We got this race flat out wrong but just witnessing this unbelievable performance made up for it all.  We can not recall a U.S. Grade 1 Race in which a filly or mare won against the boys by 8 lengths or more…it certainly wasn’t Zenyatta, Genuine Risk or Goldikova.  Will she show up in the Classic or the Distaff.  Sounded like Mr. Hughes wants to go to the Classic if she is fit.  The next day Richard Mandella did report that she was very, very tired, but expected her to bounce back quickly and will likely race the last weekend in September before moving on to the Breeders’ Cup
