Here’s a look at this weekend’s results!

This was a great score for the Super Screener as we isolated #8 She’s Not Here as our top win choice and she did just that paying a juicy $20.40 in the process. Trainer Victoria Oliver has a ridiculous win record with horses she ships to Del Mar. She’s Not Here won this race last year at just 6-1, however, her recent form looked terrible (unless you looked closer), plus Mike Smith had the option to ride but went with #2 Nancy From Nairobi instead so that probably scared some people off as well. Here’s what the Super Screener said about this mare:

Nancy From Nairobi ran well enough from the back of the field to finish a very fast closing third which is where we had her ranked. Her Emmnency was our second choice and really tossed a stinker finishing last at 5-1. Tyler Baze threw her out there into a speed duel and after 6 furlongs she was done. Still kicking myself for having this one rated so high.

Our sixth choice in the field, Fresh Feline, also closed with a rush to grab second and ignite an Exacta payoff of over $320. Hopefully, with the late scratch of Majestic Heat you threw this nice 18-1 long shot under She’s Not Here for a big score. Here’s what the Super Screener had to say about Fresh Feline:

Our Playability Score of “4” proved to be quite accurate as despite the smaller field of 8, this one produced plenty of value.

INDIANA DERBY

Well, if you boxed the top 4 horses from the Super Screener you caught the Trifecta…and we did hit it with one of our wager recommendations with Cupid on top. While we thought Cupid was vulnerable we were not going to second guess Bob Baffert as his 3 for 7 record (now 4 for 8) exposed his “ship to win” intent. So Cupid is back with a nice win and got some confidence back.

Star Hill and The Player delivered their projected races but everyone else liked them, too. We were particularly satisfied with our fading of the second choice, Cherry Wine. He answered the question we asked in the following commentary when he finished a distant 9th.

I was really disappointed though with the no-show outcome of Takeittotheedge…the “other” Dale Romans horse that went off at 29-1 suffering a very bad break from the gate…so much for the promising 3 year-old. However, I think this one will be back next out and surprise everyone at huge odds.

EDDIE READ

I can honestly say that I was getting a bit boisterous as Ashleyluvssugar was barreling down the lane trying to pass a very determined Midnight Storm. Of the three races, this was the one in which we were most confident as our win choice…ouch! We really faded Midnight Storm for the win spot and after watching Friday and Saturday’s turf races we were even more confident in that opinion. Take nothing away from Midnight Storm… he ran a huge race against a bias and after being challenged by multiple foes… big, big effort… that is two in a row now… may flop next out as the favorite.

We took a big stand against two 5-1 shots, Bolo and Ohio, which we ranked almost at the very bottom of our picks… they ended up being the last two finishers in the race…here’s what we had to say about them:

Keep an eye on Ashleyluvssugar as he will move forward again in his next race and give Flamboyant a long look next out as well. This was just his first race back since March so another nice move forward next out is more than likely.

We’re looking forward to the return of California Chrome and Dortmund in this week’s San Diego Handicap, as well as the opening week for legendary Saratoga! The only way to get our analysis is through the Super Screener Weekly – find out how here!
